Singapore Airlines has collaborated with Bagpoint – a Partner of the FTE Baggage Innovation Working Group – to launch a home baggage pickup and check-in service for passengers departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
This innovative service, designed and developed by Bagpoint, eliminates the need for passengers to carry their checked baggage to the airport or wait in long check-in queues. With this service, Bagpoint collects checked baggage from passengers’ homes, weighs and seals it, and checks it in before transferring it to Singapore Airlines at the airport. This saves passengers significant time and stress, making it easier for them to travel to the airport using public transport.
The baggage pickup and check-in service is easy to book online. When the baggage is collected from passengers’ homes, all travellers wishing to use the service are required to present their boarding pass and passport or ID card. Checked baggage is then weighed, sealed, and checked in.
This service enhances the existing collaboration between the two companies. Singapore Airlines passengers are already able to book a baggage delivery service with Bagpoint upon arrival, enabling their baggage to be delivered directly to their homes. Currently, passengers must still collect their baggage from the carousel and clear customs. However, Singapore Airlines and Bagpoint plan to expand their partnership in the near future, allowing passengers to bypass baggage collection entirely upon arrival. In this future scenario, passengers would proceed directly through customs to the arrivals hall while their baggage is collected by Bagpoint and delivered to their homes within the desired timeslot.
