Air Macau is advancing its Modern Airline Retailing strategy with Datalex’s Stellex Offer Shopping & Pricing Engine, unlocking new revenue opportunities, enhancing digital customer engagement, and improving pricing precision across channels.

Summary:

  • Air Macau accelerates Modern Airline Retailing with Datalex Stellex Offer Shopping & Pricing Engine deployment across seven digital channels.
  • Advanced shopping and pricing capabilities enhance offer control, boost conversion, and drive measurable revenue growth.
  • Scalable, high-performance architecture improves operational efficiency and enables expansion of fare products and partner connectivity.

Datalex, a market leader in airline e-commerce solutions, has announced that since its activation of the Stellex Offer Shopping & Pricing Engine in September 2024, Air Macau has made significant strides in its journey towards Modern Airline Retailing. In less than 18 months, the airline achieved key milestones through its partnership with Datalex, including the expansion of its fare product portfolio and driving revenue growth. It has been deployed on seven core online channels, including the official website, mobile application, Douyin, and MPAY, with additional online channels planned for integration in future.

By leveraging the Stellex Offer Shopping & Pricing Engine, Air Macau benefits from advanced shopping and pricing capabilities that give the airline greater offer control, enable richer content, and create more opportunities to engage customers across its digital touchpoints.

Built on a robust technical architecture, the solution delivers greater precision in cost management and pricing, helping Air Macau to maximise revenue across its channels. Highly performant and scalable technology manages the high look-to-book ratios typical of airline e-commerce, reducing system costs and providing an improved digital customer experience through faster response times.

“The successful activation of the Stellex Offer Shopping & Pricing Engine is a key milestone in Air Macau’s retail transformation journey,” said Mr Wang Qing, General Manager of E-Commerce, Air Macau. “The solution provides us with greater control and agility, enabling us to provide our customers with a wider range of fares and offers, at speed, while also supporting revenue uplift across our digital channels.”

Datalex developed its Stellex Offer Shopping & Pricing Engine to cater to China’s unique market needs, providing tangible value to airlines across the region. Optimising the calculation and delivery of accurate domestic and international fares, through IATA and ATPCO fare rules, Chinese airlines are empowered to offer transparent, competitively priced flights and fare combinations across its channels – enhancing the booking experience and driving higher conversion rates.

As part of the Air China Group, it is important to Air Macau to be able to seamlessly sell other subsidiaries’ flights through its own direct channels and combine them with its own services to create connecting itineraries. This results in a smoother booking and travel experience for the customer and expanded international reach through offering a wider range of destinations.

“We are proud to support Air Macau on its journey towards Modern Airline Retailing,” said Jonathan Rockett, CEO, Datalex. “The Stellex Offer Shopping & Pricing Engine enables the airline to introduce new fare products quickly, unlock additional revenue opportunities, and improve operational efficiency through advanced technology. Our China-specific shopping and pricing capabilities further demonstrate Datalex’s long-term commitment to supporting airlines across the region with solutions tailored to the unique needs of the Chinese market.”
